Liz Roessler is a self-taught, professional calligrapher / engraver / educator with over 35 years client experience. She has been obsessed with letters ever since she could hold a crayon in her hand and immersed herself in learning the art of pointed pen calligraphy and hand-lettering as a young adult.
In the early 1990’s, while in her 20’s, she began doing a wide variety of calligraphy work for events, menus, chalkboard signs, invitation design, certificates, and custom lettering art commissions for clients. Liz has taught classes for companies and organizations including Microsoft, Pfizer, Zappos, HubSpot, Google, Motorola, DraftKings, EF Education, Wayfair, Toast Tab, Arnold Worldwide, Paper Source, The Boston Design & Innovation Center, J McLaughlin, Compass Real Estate, Mullen Lowe, Boston Harbor Now, LovePop Cards, Dana Farber Cancer Institute, Boston Children’s Hospital, The ‘Quin House, The Harvard Club, and (childrens & adult classes at) Minni Space.
She has appeared many times on-location for “live” calligraphy and hand-engraving glass bottles for national and local brands / clients including Saks Fifth Avenue, Sephora, Victoria’s Secret, J. Over the past three decades, she has enjoyed “sharing the lettering love” by teaching 100’s of in-person and virtual classes to individuals, dozens of cool companies for their employees, to social groups, at museums (including the MFA and ICA), for art associations (including The Nantucket Historical Society and The Handicraft Club of Providence), in classrooms (including Boston and Brookline Public Schools), and at colleges (including BU and Northeastern).
Liz has appeared on-location for hand-engraving glass & metal gift personalization at pop-up events for many residential buildings & office communities including Bozzuto Properties (The Sudbury, Hub50 House, Twenty20, Proto, CambridgePark, The Harvey, Fuse), Avalon Bay (Avalon North Station, AVA Back Bay, Avalon Exeter), Echelon Seaport, Four Seasons Residences, The W Residences, The Boston Innovation & Design Building (Lincoln Properties) & Seaport East / 10 Post Office Square (JLL).
